What is the difference between a Mill WiFi Generation 1, 2, and 3 heater?

All Mill heaters sold up to and including the 2016/2017 season are Generation 1 heaters. Generation 2 heaters are from the 2017/18 season to the 2020/21 season. Generation 3 heaters are from the 2021/22 season and onward.

The main difference between Generation 1 and 2 heaters are the Generation 2 heaters have a new PCB (Printed Circuit Board) enabling: 

  • Calibration of the heaters via the Mill app
  • Turning heaters on/off via the Mill app
  • Adding off mode in app programs
  • Adding independent heaters
  • Converting from Celsius to Fahrenheit
  • Compatibility with WiFi protocol 80211.b/g/n

Generation 3 Wifi heaters upgrades include:

  • 100% quiet operation – A silicon control results in no clicking sounds when the temperature goes up and down
  • Child safety lock - can be activated in app or directly on heater
  • Commercial lock for landlords - can be activated in app or directly on heater
  • Open window function - Automatically switches off the heating device when a window is opened, can be activated in app or directly on heater
  • Local Res API allows you to control your heaters with your own smart home solution
  • Possibility to enable air quality sensor Mill Sense to override the heater´s temperature sensor for a more precise temperature control
  • OTA (Over the Air) updates allowing new exciting features to be added to the software
