WiFi router settings when using Mill WiFi heaters

  1. Make sure that your WiFi distributes b/g/n signal. Most routers do this automatically and in that case, there is nothing you need to change. You can check the b/g/n status by accessing your router through your computer.
  2. Some routers have two different networks. Please make sure that you are connected to the 2.4 Ghz network.


NB!        It is important that you use 2.4 Ghz network when choosing WiFi!

  • 2.4 Ghz network (the network you MUST be connected to when installing the heater)
  • 5 Ghz network (the network you shall NOT be connected to when installing the heater)
  • After the installation, your cellphone can be connected either of the two Ghz networks

The reason why we have chosen the 2.4 Ghz network for the WiFi module is the superior range on this network.



If you can't connect our product to your wifi network, it is likely that the Internet router default settings on the 2.4Ghz wifi band needs some adjustments.

Our products are compatible with "all" routers, but we have the experience that some of the router on the market do not like IOT (things that go on wifi but not a phone, pc, tablets, etc). Therefore, they sometimes need adjustments for everything to work.

Gen2 products require the following settings on the 2.4Ghz wifi network:

1) 2.4Ghz

2) 802.11b/g/n

3) WPA2 password (AES encryption)

4) Channel 10 (or lower)

5) Bandwidth 40Mhz

6) DHCP must be enabled


In addition, this must be adjusted if you have ASUS or Ubiquiti router:

Go to: Wireless Menu >> Professional Tab >> Airtime Fairness. Disable this setting.


Once these settings are set, you can reset the product and reconnect. (Resetting is done by holding in the products wifi button for 5 seconds)

Also, make sure you have the following ports in the routers firewall opened:


5000 (http gateway, app with platform)

443,9005 (https gateway, app with platform)

9100 (load balance of device connecting to cloud)

8000,9000,9004 (device connect with cloud)

9001 (device data push, device control cmd, app with platform)

80 (all third party services)



6689 (unicast in intranet, device with cloud via router)

7689, 8689 (broadcast in intranet, app with device via router)

    The heaters shows up in the router as "unknown vendor" devices - but with the name (SSID) HF-LPT120. This is because Mill heaters must use a module from


    Read about the WiFi module:


    So dear Mill-heaters, two tips:


    1) This module can be programmed with a custom made SSID

    2) In the Mill app, the IP address of each unit should be displayed, and not just the MAC address

    Please add support for telling the Mill WiFi device to connect to hidden ssid’s
    And the fact that we have to not be connected to 5 GHz on the phone while setting up the device is to hard for normal users.
    Often the two wireless networks use the same SSID. You should make this much better, in the next updated version.
    And you should release a device with 5 GHz support.

    With a second Access Point on channel 1, my Mill devices tend to connect to it, even they get poor signal strength. I have a much better Access Point on channel 6 witch the Mill devices is getting much stronger signal from.
    They still end up on the week (firther away) access point on channel 1.
    Both access points (Ubnt UniFi) uses the same SSID/WPA2.

    To solve this, I changed the firhtest away AP to channel 11.
    Now the Mill equipment gets way better signal.

    It would be very nice if the Mill devices would be better to choose the strongest access point and not just the "first" one, if they go by channel...
